MORE ON ALL-ON-4™ DENTAL IMPLANTS
If removable dentures don’t seem like an attractive option, you’re healthy enough for surgery, and you’re missing all of the teeth on either your upper or lower jawbone, you may be a candidate for All-on- 4 implant dentures.
All-in- 4 is a newer procedure that only requires four dental implants to be placed into your jaw at an angle. This procedure is less costly than implant-supported dentures and generally takes less time to heal because there are only four implants in your jawbone. For patients who are missing all of their teeth on the bottom or top, All-in- 4 is a good option because the implants support the entire jaw structure to improve the appearance of your face and your ability to chew and speak.
ALL-ON-4™ IMPLANT PROCEDURE
A dental implant is a small screw that is surgically implanted into your jawbone. The procedure generally happens in two sessions. During the first surgery, one of our highly trained oral surgeons will place the implants in your jawbone. After this, your jawbone and the implants will undergo a process called osteointegration wherein the implant will fuse to your jawbone. You will be fitted with temporary crowns until your jawbone fully heals. After your jawbone is healed, you will come back to our office to be fitted with a permanent, customized smile that you don’t need to worry about.
Because of the surgical component, All-on- 4 implant dentures are not for everyone. During an initial consultation, your oral surgeon will thoroughly examine you, your health history, and your long-term oral health goals to determine whether or not All-On- 4 implant dentures are a good option for you.
